Validation Letters

Terms and Conditions

What This Site Is

Validation Letters is a free, browser-based tool for building a debt validation letter, described further on the About page. It's maintained by an individual, not a law firm, a company, or a credit repair organization. By using the letter generator or reading any page on this site, you agree to the terms below.

Not Legal Advice

Everything on this site is informational, not advisory: it states general rules under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and related law, and it never tells you whether to dispute a debt or applies those rules to your specific facts. Using this site does not create an attorney-client relationship, and it is not a substitute for advice from a licensed attorney who has actually reviewed your situation. This site is not affiliated with any government agency.

No Warranty

The site, its generator, and every page on it are provided "as is," without warranty of any kind. Legal citations are checked against primary sources as described on the About page, but no warranty is made that the content is complete, current for your state, or error-free. State law changes, and a page here may lag behind that change until it's next checked.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the operator of this site is not liable for any damages — direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential — arising from your use of the site, the letters it generates, or your reliance on anything it says. This is a free reference tool, not a paid service with a support guarantee, and it makes no promise about what will happen after you send a letter it helped you write.

Your Responsibility

The generator builds a letter from the facts you type into it, and it does not verify those facts against your actual account, your collector, or any outside record. You're responsible for reviewing the letter for accuracy before you sign, print, or mail it, and for deciding whether it fits your situation. Nothing you type is sent anywhere — see the Privacy Policy — which also means no one but you checks it before it goes in an envelope.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by United States federal law and the law of the state applicable to your use of the site, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. This mirrors how the rest of the site treats debt collection law generally: a federal floor set by the FDCPA and Regulation F, with state law layered on top.

Changes to These Terms

These terms may be revised as the site changes. The date at the top reflects the most recent revision, and continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
